Abstract: |
Evaluation trenches in Bitts park exposed a 19th century embankment and wall, although no earlier deposits were detected. Evaluation trenches at town dyke Orchard detected the millrace at a depth of 1.2m below the current ground surface. Above this were deposits relating to 19th century railway sidings to the west and a thick soil deposit of similar age to the east.[Au(adp)] |
