<summary>A watching brief was maintained during the construction of a porch and the excavation of a cable trench adjacent to the Gilstrap Library building, and within the grounds of Newark Castle (Scheduled Ancient Monument, Nottinghamshire 3). A topsoil and underlying deposits of unknown date were found during the excavation of foundation trenches for the porch, whilst post-medieval and later deposits were identified during the excavation of the cable trench. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
