Abstract: |
The assessment concluded that on the basis of evidence from excavated sites near the proposed development area, that it was thought to have a moderate to good potential for finds of prehistoric periods. However, it was unlikely that they would survive in situ. More likely they would occur as residual material in much later alluvial deposits. The site was thought to have a moderate to good potential for finds of the Roman period. The site was thought to have a very limited potential for features or finds of the Saxon, early medieval, later medieval and post-medieval periods. Until c1840, the bulk of the site was known to be open agricultural land. [Au(adp)] |
