Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken prior to the proposed construction of residential and retails units. The site was within an archaeological priority zone as defined in the Local Planning Authority's Unitary Development Plan. Overall the study site was thought to have had a moderate archaeological potential for the Roman, medieval and post-medieval periods and a low or very low archaeological potential for all other periods of human activity. Previous development of the site had had a severe and widespread archaeological impact. It was considered that archaeological deposits were unlikely to have survived anywhere on the site. [Au(adp)] |
