Abstract: |
<summary>A series of sections was recorded across the gravel face at Kimbridge Farm Quarry, as an extension to a regular, long-term watching brief, taking place throughout gravel extraction at the quarry. The sections revealed Pleistocene gravel of varying thickness, overlying a highly irregular surface excavated in Palaeogene Reading beds. The gravel ranged from well-bedded sandy gravel, laid down by fluvial processes, to poorly-bedded and/or frost-heaved clayey/loamy gravel, of uncertain origin. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
