Abstract: |
Assessement of the site of a 1960's office block which was proposed for redevelopment identified the site included part of Merchants Hall, originally occupying the late 15th century St Clements Chapel. It was later extended to the north and included buildings to the north of the 13th century defensive Marsh wall. Documentary and cartographic evidence suggested that the line of the Marsh Wall passed through the southern side of the site. [AIP] |
