Abstract: |
<summary>Fieldwalking along the route of the above pipeline concentrated on ten areas of land. The investigation identified variously-sized scatters of medieval pottery, possibly representing small cottage or farm sites and settlement sites dating from the 11th/12th century to the 13th/14th century. A relatively dense scatter of medieval and post-medieval finds in one of the areas suggested a farm site of 13th to 17th century date; a scatter of heavily burnt flints, also found here, indicated possible prehistoric activity, whilst the discovery of post-medieval building debris pointed towards the former presence of a barn on the site. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
