Abstract: |
The evaluation consisted of machine excavation of a total of ten trenches down to the natural subsoil. A number of features of archaeological significance were present including a shallow linear feature that contained two sherds of medieval pottery and a corroded iron nail head, a steep-sided ditch, and a stone feature constructed from angular rubble that contained serveral sherds of medieval pottery whose alignment suggested an association with St Leanards Nunnery.
