Abstract: |
The watching brief was carried out during the construction of five rock structures along a section of the Kent coastline that had been gradually developed over the last fifteen hundred years, the general nature of this project suggested that the available archaeological resource along the shoreline would have been extremely limited. This was largely due to the nature of the removal and deposition of beach material and any recently deposited archaeological material, coupled with the unstable nature of the geology immediately beside the coastal strip between the Hythe and Folkestone.
