Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	An archaeological evaluation, consisting of the excavation of eight trial trenches (3 x 20m by 1.5m and 3 x 10m by 1.5m, 2 x 5m by 1.5m), was undertaken in response to a condition upon planning permission for the redevelopment of the 0.4ha site. The evaluation resulted in the recording of two isolated small ditches/gullies in the north and south-east corner of the site. Three trenches excavated in the central part of the site were archaeologically sterile. Deposits exposed in the south-west corner of the site corresponded to earthworks previously recorded within the scheduled area to the south and west. Following consultation with the client a contingency programme of further excavation was implemented in order to fully establish the extent of these features and their vulnerability to development. It was concluded that the deposits in the south-west corner of the site were unlikely to be seriously affected by the proposed development. Of the other recorded features, only the northern feature were likely to be affected by the development. It was recommended that a targeted watching brief be carried out on the development. [Au(adp)]
