Abstract: |
An evaluation recorded evidence of late Saxon, medieval and Victorian settlement. Evidence of medieval land drainage and division was noted, as well as a residual sherd of possible Bronze Age pottery. A further complex of medieval ditches and a Victorian culvert followed the line of what appeared to be a defunct property boundary. Some disturbance from 19th and 20th century cellaring was encountered in parts of the site. A photographic survey of the 19th century railway office building was carried out prior to its demolition.
