Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a new library, museum and art gallery around an existing library, which lay in an archaeologically sensitive area close to Rugby's medieval market place. A medieval boundary ditch was recorded, and a small quantity of medieval material was recovered. Considerable evidence of 19th and 20th century features indicated that any further medieval features surviving would be somewhat disturbed. 19th century material and a single prehistoric flint flake were found.
