Abstract: |
The evaluation comprised 41 machine excavated trenches. Recorded features comprised 34 tree throws, two possible postholes, four undated ditches and two pits, both of which were located on high points of the land and possibly of ritual significance. One of the pits lay between two ditches and contained antlers, debitage and flint tools dated to the Neolithic period; it also contained Iron Age pottery. The second pit contained a large amount of Iron Age pottery and animal bones. [Au(abr)] |
