Abstract:
A watching brief was maintained during the excavation of a trench for the accomodation of electricity cables associated with a communications mast which was being installed to a 19th century folly (Saxonbury Tower). Saxonbury hillfort was a univallate Iron Age camp with an outer ditch and a slight internal bank, it was a scheduled ancient monument. Nothing of archaeological significance was revealed, the area was seen to be void of any remains. [AIP]
