Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of a proposed development site within an Archaeological Priority Area was undertaken. Prehistoric flint artefacts and bronze age weapons had been recorded in the surrounding area, and Roman artefacts had been found in the nearby River Thames. Medieval estates in the area had been documented. Peat deposits with potential for archaeological remains had been observed during a borehole survey at the site. It was concluded that an evaluation would be necessary. [AIP] |
