Abstract: |
There was to the rear of 16 Bisham Village, a 17th century timber framed building which comprised a series of pit features. These pits included the results of quarrying and disposal of domestic refuse. In addition to this a chalk lined soakaway was visible, cut through the large quarry pit and filled with 19th century material. The soakaway remained in use as could be seen by the number of modern services culminating in a modern brick-built addition. Two sherds of 15th century pottery were recovered from made ground deposits. [Au(abr)] |
