Abstract: |
The assessment was undertaken of Chew Magna as part of the Avon Extensive Urban Survey. The aim of the survey was to provide an assessment of the archaeological resource surviving in the area and to provide a strategy to improve the management of the archaeological resource and the historic environment in these urban and former urban areas. The development of the town was considered within a standard chronological framework, drawing on information in the SMR and historic maps and research in Bristol Central Library and local libraries.
