Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment was undertaken in response to a planning condition for the restoration of Mansion House and the construction of seven new houses. The report concluded that the archaeological potential of the site for the Bronze Age and Roman period could be defined as moderate. The site's archaeological potential for all other periods of human activity, except the post-medieval period, could be defined as low. The site contained a mid-18th century Mansion House, Burwood Park House. The Mansion was Grade II Listed. Past post-depositional impacts on the site were defined as severe and widespread, through 19th and 20th century additions to Burwood Park House and tree planting. [Au(adp)] |
