Abstract: |
Thirty-six evaluation trenches were excavated to target cropmarks and features identified in a geophysical survey, as well as to identify natural features in the Rhee lake. Features identified consisted of: Neolithic pits, a Bronze Age settlement comprising of post holes, curvilinear gullies, ditches and a field system, an Iron Age ditched enclosure and a Roman field system. The Rhee Lake area produced evidence for a palaeochannel and a later system of channels, cutting through peat inundations. [Au(abr)] |
