Abstract: |
A desk-based survey was undertaken to assess the archaeological potential of the proposed route, and to put forward recommendations for dealing with the archaeological resource in the event of the road scheme being progressed. Twenty-five sites of archaeological potential were discovered, two being Listed structures associated with Duxbury Park. Most of the sites noted were of only local significance but included a possible medieval mill and its associated water management system, the remains of Duxbury Colliery, and the site of the post-medieval settlement of Yarrow Bridge.
