Abstract: |
Historic building recording was undertaken during internal renovations and extension of a Grade II Listed Building. The recording suggested that the building was stylistically consistent, and was late 18th or early 19th century in fabric. In tandem with the historic fabric works, archaeological monitoring and recorded was conducted in trenches excavated for the foundations of the new build. The works revealed slight traces of an 18th century wall, together with a disturbed dump deposit of oyster shell, brick and tile within ballast and back-fill from modern service pipes. No archaeological finds or features predating the 18th century were observed. [Au(abr)] |
