Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken in respect of a proposed development for a new centre of visual arts. The study site lay within a conservation area in an area of archaeological interest. The existing buildings at the site were casemented throughout and it was predicted that this would have had a significant impact upon archaeological deposits. In summary the potential for prehistoric, Roman and Anglo-Saxon remains was considered low, medieval and post-medieval was considered low to moderate. [Au(adp)] |
