Abstract: |
The side of a storm-drain excavated in association with the construction of the Derby Southern Bypass was inspected and all features of archaeological potential cleaned and recorded. The watching brief appeared to confirm that the ditches of a settlement represented by cropmarks in an adjacent field extended into the development area. Furthermore, although many of these ditches were likely to be Iron Age or Romano-British in origin, it was also evidence that some were possibly attributable to the medieval period. [Au] |
