Abstract: |
The geotechnical test pits monitored were insufficiently deep to reveal remains definitely associated with Davies' Bear Garden of 1662-1682. One wall and a surface may have been of late 17th or 18th century date, but are more likely to be of the later date. The other remains observed were brick walls, floors, and a cess pit of 18th or 19th century date. Re-deposited glassworks waste were redeposited in an 18th century cellar. [Au(abr)] |
