Abstract: |
The work was carried out in response to a planning application to build a new warehouse unit backing onto the Bulstake stream. A series of alluvial layers overlaying the natural gravel were recorded and evidence for palaeochannels was observed. A stone surface or platform of uncertain date was revealed in the south-west corner of the site, possibly a riverbank, hardstanding surface or a ford or causeway across an older course of the Bulstake stream.
