Abstract: |
Trial trenching revealed that much of the central site had been truncated prior to the construction of modern farm buildings. Structural remains were, however, encountered in two of the trenches which indicated that significant stratigraphic potential existed within, and adjacent to the trenches. The evaluation exposed remains of an earlier farm building, with the remains of a cobble and mortar floor, and an area of cobbled surface butting the outer wall. A buried section of wall, the remains of cobbling and a metalled track were also exposed during evaluation. [Au(abr)] |
