Abstract: |
A section of the sub-floor deposits has been exposed in the course of work to the floor boards. The least-disturbed deposit is a dirty yellow sand with ashy inclusions; cut into this is a brick and stone heating duct. This has been broken by the insertation of a ceramic pipe and a recent brick plinth. All of these features appear to be of 19th-century or later date. [Au] |
