Abstract: |
The City of Hereford Archaeology Unit was commissioned to be present during the excavation of a drainage trench and soakaway at the church, and to record any finds of archaeological importance. The excavation consisted of a trench, some 5m long, running southwards from close to the south-west corner of the church, and a soakaway approximately 1m across at the southern end of the trench. The undisturbed natural was exposed in the soakaway at a depth of 0.65m. Above this and continuing through the full length of the pipe trench was a layer of relatively clean topsoil with no archaeological features whatsoever showing within it.[AIP] |
