Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief during groundworks for an extension to a hotel, situated across the projected line of the ramparts of Willersey Hill hillfort (Scheduled Ancient Monument No 117A), revealed substantial modern ground disturbance. Two archaeological features were identified, comprising a deposit of ashy material associated with 19th century pottery fragments, and a possible ditch which may have represented part of the defences of the hillfort. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
