Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the groundworks relating to the a rear ground extension and the conversion of the first and second floors to provide six new flats. The excavation of a trench for a new drain run was observed to the rear of the building. Building rubble o.4m deep overlay a mid grey-brown deposit 0.6m deep. This might possibly have been a make-up layer. A single sherd of medieval pottery was recovered from this deposit, probably an import to the site. [Au(adp)] |
