Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation consisting of one 10m long trial trench was carried out in advance of a proposed new residential construction. The site lay c.800m east of the Scheduled Ancient Monument (SAM 27013) of Pevensey Castle. One gully of probable Romano-British date was recorded. Seven other pottery sherds from the Roman and medieval periods were recovered from the subsoil. A piece of cattle longbone with butchery marks was also recovered from the subsoil. [Au(abr)] |
