Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation, consisting of the excavation of 16 trial trenches, was undertaken as part of a planning condition. In the northern part of the site evidence for boundary ditches and sparse remains of pre-existing buildings, known from historical maps, were identified. However, heavy truncation was noted and the chances of structural evidence and deposits surviving appeared to be minimal. The foundations of a listed wall were examined and found to be of the same date as the wall itself. No other significant archaeological remains were found. [Au(adp)] |
