Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken during the digging of a trench for a new water pipe. Natural sandy gravel was observed in the centre of the trench overlain by three layers made-ground, the earliest of which appeared to be 18th century in date. All observed deposits were sealed by topsoil which constitutes the current ground surface. [Au(adp)] |
