Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction of a single dwelling and detached garage. The watching brief was undertaken as the site lay within the medieval core of the village. Romano-British artefacts were also known from the vicinity and a Late Saxon grave-cover fragment was situated within the parish church. The watching brief identified an undated ditch, possibly a former boundary, two undated and one modern pit. Artefacts retrieved from the site included a fragment of 18th-19th century roof tile, mortar and animal bone. [Au(abr)] |
