Abstract: |
Monitoring works were undertaken along the east bank of the river whilst a new retaining wall was built. This formed part of the work undertaken prior to redevelopment at the site. A number of pit like structures were recovered mostly being post-medieval in date. One pit represented the discarded residue of animal butchery. Waterlogged timbers were also recovered possibly from the remains of a footbridge or jetty. Sections of these were sent for further dendrochronological analysis. A piece of a 16th century man's leather shoe was also recovered. [Au(abr)] |
