Abstract: |
The site, on the fringes of Roman Colchester's main cemeteries, was evaluated by three trenches. The southern part of the site had been severely truncated, but on the northern edge a Roman soil layer survived. This contained pits, but no burials. Finds data indicated a 2nd-3rd century date. Loose bones, brick, roof tile and tesserae provided further evidence of Roman occupation. [Au(abr)] |
