Abstract: |
During the course of the evaluation the earliest deposits comprised a stone lined gully and a related deposit. The fill of the gully disclosed a variety of charred and uncharred cereal grains along with one seed of dyer's rocket, vegetation known to produce yellow dye. Further deposits attested to continued industrial activity on the site, the presence of horncore, skull and knuckle bones and the presence of a variety of clays suggested some relationship with the site and the tanning industry.
