Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during investigative excavations prior to the development of the site which stood on the assumed line of the Roman road which approached York from the south west from Roman Tadcaster or Calcaria. Despite the important significance of the site, nothing of archaeological value was revealed although it was noted that the potential still existed for the presence of significant remains. [AIP] |
