Abstract: |
Seven trial trenches were excavated in response to a condition upon planning permission for the redevelopment of the site for residential purposes, access road and areas of soft landscaping. The trenches contained evidence wholly of several residential and commercial properties. These properties were constructed between 1870-1913, possibly as a result of an increase in the local population. In addition, a post hole containing a 20th century brick fragment and a circular feature containing charcoal, but of an unknown date, were also found. No evidence for any earlier archaeological remains was found on the site. [Au(adp)] |
