Abstract: |
The watching brief was carried out during groundworks at a development site, which lay within the planned medieval town of Lichfield. Elements of medieval building timbers exposed during demolition were also recorded. Pottery found in features associated with the timbers revealed at least three distinct phases of activity within the former building, dating from the 14th century to the late 18th/early 19th century. The features included the bases of two fireplaces, two post-holes and a beam slot. [Au(adp)] |
