Abstract: |
The assessment determined that the site had a low archaeological potential for all past periods of human activity except for the Roman period. The site may have been located close to the junction of two major Roman Roads serving the Wealdon Iron Industry. Past archaeological investigations to the west and south of the study site had retrieved Roman finds (pottery, glass and slag) of probable first and second century date. [Au(adp)] |
