Abstract: |
The excavations at the vinehouse revealed the well preserved remains of a complex structure. The vinehouse had walls with arched openings below ground, thought to allow vine roots to grow into the soil outside the vinehouse. These arches were shown not to have been used in later phases of the vinehouse's history. Several features thought to be associated with the vinehouse's heating system were also identified by the excavation.[Au(abr)] |
