Abstract: |
<summary>Observations were made during the construction of the Whitestone to Exwick sewage pipeline. Fieldwalking also took place after topsoil-stripping; post-medieval pottery, tile, one flint, and one sherd of Samian were recovered. Two possible housing platforms were noted during fieldwalking. It was hoped that evidence would be recovered for the medieval and Roman roads along the route; unfortunately, the area of the medieval road could not be observed and any evidence of the Roman road had been obliterated by the modern one. The parish boundary was preserved by a hedgebank; unfortunately, no buried soil was recovered from beneath the bank. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
