Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief was maintained during groundworks for the construction of a porch and toilet extension on the north side of the church. Eight burials were disturbed; the remains were collected and retained for reinterment in another part of the cemetery. A number of metal objects were recovered from the grave-fills, including a copper alloy belt-buckle of 14th to 15th century date. Fragments of 9th and 11th century pottery indicating activity pre-dating the church were recovered, along with fragments of 12th to 14th century pottery and one fragment of 18th century pottery. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
