Abstract: |
An archaeological walkover survey was undertaken in order to locate and identify potential areas of archaeological remains that may have required archaeological evaluation. A number of earthworks, probably medieval or post-medieval in date were identified. The majority of them were old watercourses or field boundaries. Earthworks possibly relating to a 16th century forge were observed in the northern part of the site. The remains of a deserted medieval village comprising several house platforms and a hollow-way were noted in the north-west corner of the site. An extensive sub-circular earthwork was identified to the north-east. [Au(abr)] |
