Abstract: |
A desk-based study supported by fieldwalking was undertaken to assess the archaeological implications of proposed development on land off Calladine Lane. Fieldwalking recovered a small quantity of Mesolithic and Neolithic flints and Romano-British and medieval pottery fragments, and greater quantities of 19th and 20th century pottery fragments which had been plough spread from two domestic rubbish tips. No trace of a putative Roman road crossing the area was identified. [AIP] |
