Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on the proposed site for a new middle school. The site was located to the south-west of the site of the deserted village of Wesbury-by-Shenley, adjacent to areas of known Roman and Saxon activity. Twenty-three trenches were excavated, but apart from signs of recent activity, the only archaeological features exposed were traces of medieval ridge-and-furrow ploughing. [Au] |
