Abstract: |
Residual finds of Romano-British date were found which indicated that high status occupation was present in this area of Abingdon. One sherd of St Neots Ware (10th-11th century) was recovered from a deep deposit adjacent to the river. Remains of a wall suggested that evidence of Abbey buildings lay c500mm below the present ground level within the Abbey Close Car park and under Abbey Close. [Au] |
