Abstract: |
The purpose of this assessment was to assess the risk for impact on existing archaeological features as part of the mitigation scheme. Within the scheme area archaeological remains were likely to take the form of features cut into the surface of the natural chalk. Historic and modern ploughing would have resulted in the most widespread impact and would almost certainly have removed the upper levels of each feature. With the exception of Roman road surfaces, spreads and deposits were unlikely to be present. [Au(abr)] |
