Abstract: |
A preliminary archaeological assessment of an area of proposed gravel extraction involved the recording of geotechnical trial pits and scanning of available field surfaces for displaced artefacts. While no archaeological deposits were recorded in the trial pits approximately 45% of them contained worked flint, probably of Bronze Age date. While the density of finds was not high the occurence of this material was restricted to the north and north-west area of the site. [Au(abr)] |
